Satsuma, AL 50th Anniversary Special Event Station - On October 17, 2009 MARC set up a special event station in Baldwin Square, Satsuma, AL, in celebration of Satsuma's 50 Anniversary. Our presence was invited and insisted on by Mayor Bill Stewart. Although band conditions allowed only one HF contact, we were able to talk to several scouts (JOTA) using the 146.82 repeater. The Mayor visited our set-up twice during the day, sitting down for a while and talking about the importance of ham radio to the community. Many thanks to Bud Stacey, KC4HGH for organizing our station. (pictures on Photo Gallery page)
