WHAT'S NEW !

MOBILE HAMS ASSIST WITH ADULT SPECIAL OLYMPICS On April 17, 2010 the following hams assisted with the SW Alabama District Adult Special Olympics Track & Field events at UMS/Wright stadium: Janet Gardner KF4JIG, Gerald Jones KD4DLJ, Brian Naylor KF4IRC, Charlotte Naylor KF4RPB, and Gary Schamber KE6GYA. The weather was perfect, the athletes in fine form and great spirits, and a good time was had by all.

Satsuma, AL 50th Anniversary Special Event Station - On October 17, 2009 MARC set up a special event station in Baldwin Square, Satsuma, AL, in celebration of Satsuma's 50 Anniversary. Our presence was invited and insisted on by Mayor Bill Stewart. Although band conditions allowed only one HF contact, we were able to talk to several scouts (JOTA) using the 146.82 repeater. The Mayor visited our set-up twice during the day, sitting down for a while and talking about the importance of ham radio to the community. Many thanks to Bud Stacey, KC4HGH for organizing our station. (pictures on Photo Gallery page)

6 Meter Information - - Danny Carpenter N4UXY and Norman Knapp N5NPO re-installed the 6m repeater on top of Providence Hospital on October 4th.
